Online & In-Person Yoga
"The body benefits from movement,
the mind benefits from stillness"
* Sakyong Mipham *

However you choose to practice yoga, whichever lineage you feel drawn to .... there is no denying the array of benefits any form of mindful movement & conscious breathing can offer our mind and our body.
Physically, yoga can help us move better, feel stronger, avoid injury and maintain our range of movement. Physiologically, yoga impacts those autonomic processes we feel to have little control over - our heart rate, blood pressure, stress levels, digestion & sleep. Mentally it helps with stress, anxiety & depression, can improve mental clarity, alertness & concentration and helps us to feel calm, centred and relaxed.
Peacefully Strong is exactly how I'd sum up that wonderful feeling we have after a yoga practice - whether it's 10 minutes or 90 minutes - and our ability to tap into that state both on and off our mats.
So if you're looking to incorporate a yoga or movement practice into your life - be it for strength, improved flexibility & mobility, stress relief or mindfulness - I would love to support you on that journey.
My name is Sarah and I'm a qualified Personal Trainer and 500hr yoga teacher. My yoga classes are not about arm balances, gymnastic poses or landing in the splits ...
I teach in a way that should leave you feeling better when you step off your mat, whether that's relaxed or revitalised.
I offer online classes & membership, in-person classes (local to Sandy, Bedfordshire) and tailored 1:1 packages.

"I have really enjoyed your classes, they are pitched at a great level for me and the pace and explanations have, in total honesty, been the best that I have come across"

Current Classes
Online Chilled / Slow Flow - Mondays @ 8pm
A 45-60 minute class suited to all levels. A mix of slow flow & longer holds, working on the whole body, combined with pranayama (breath practice) to leave the mind & body feeling spacious. Every 5-6 weeks our classes change to incorporate a new theme, meaning there is always a different feel and focus.
In Person Yoga Dance - Tuesdays @ 6.30pm
A fun, vinyasa style class. Each week we build a flowing sequence, choreographed to match a well known song - usually from the 80s or 90s! Incorporating non-traditional yoga poses, this class will be a workout without you realising. Great for coordination, flexibility and fitness. No yoga experience is necessary, but you must be able to move quite freely for this one as you would a vinyasa class (think lunging, crouching, kneeling, stepping from downward facing dog, side planks etc). 60 minutes.
In Person Chilled - Tuesdays @ 7.45pm
This class is slower paced and suitable for all levels. Gentle movement eases tightness in the body before we work into slightly deeper and longer-held stretches. A large amount of each class is floor-based (lying or sitting) and where kneeling is involved, alternative options are always given. A focus on the breath and other body awareness techniques are incorporated to make this a really relaxing class. 60 minutes.
In Person - Runners Respite ...TBC
A new class I'm looking to run in the local area - the perfect antidote to running, bootcamps and heavy lifting... but also suitable for those with desk jobs or drivers! This class would specifically target the muscle groups that get short & tight due to use and posture.
Online Library of Classes - available any time
All styles - chilled, slow flow, yin, vinyasa, yoga strength, movement patterns, animal flow ...

Testimonials from members
"Sarah, you don't realise how much you are appreciated at this moment. Your classes are keeping me sane..."
"I've really been loving the mix of live and online - I wasn't managing many classes initially but am really trying to make time for it and managed loads this week. It makes me feel so much better and I love the playlists too"
"Thank you for leaving the sessions up for us to use ... now the children are in school again I have the physical space and the head space to practice and I can choose a class to suit my mood, timing and out-of-practiceness! It was a real treat to have the house to myself and lose myself on the mat for an hour."
"I have really enjoyed your classes, they are pitched at a great level for me and the pace and explanations have, in total honesty, been the best that I have come across"
"I wanted to say I am really enjoying your classes and my strength and technique has really improved since discovering you in December 🙏 You put so much effort into your classes and it is really appreciated."

A little more about me & Peacefully Strong
For those that like the background ... I'm Sarah, I'm 40-something and I became a personal trainer (after the arrival of 2 kids and switching from a career in Project Management) in 2014.
Over the years, my passion has moved from strength through weights to strength through movement. My freelance PT business became known as '40 years strong' in 2017 (there's a clue there to my precise age!) but then rebranded as Peacefully Strong Yoga in 2020/21 when I felt yoga became the central thread to everything I offered my clients.
Personally, I was late to the party with yoga. I never gave it the focus it deserved - and that's because I thought it was all about meditation and relaxed poses.
Several years into practising and teaching .... and now I LOVE yoga for the fact it includes meditation and relaxed poses! But it also gives us an amazing discipline from which to develop physical strength & flexibility as well as mental space & wellness.
Peacefully Strong reflects what I believe a yoga practice can offer every single one of us ... the ability to feel strong, mentally and physically, without causing damage to ourselves, mentally or physically. And because of that you will find no talk of diets, no gruelling training regimes, no 'before/after' shots & no competition here ... what you will discover though is that yoga is more than 'just' yoga!
